Barbaresco DOCG Cè Vanin

Barbaresco demonstrates how a single grape variety expresses its diverse personalities according to the terrain and microclimate where it grows: on the hills of the Barbaresco, Nebbiolo shows its delicate side.

GRAPE VARIETAL
100% Nebbiolo. A native Piedmont grape with a late harvest period, recognized for its quality since the ancient Roman epoch. The wine obtained is characterized by extraordinary refinement, exceptional ageing capacity and strong tannin content.

HARVEST
Mid-October, manual

WINE MAKING
After the stalk removal and pressing the fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures (28-30°C) in steel tanks. The duration of maceration is 7-8 days and the malolactic is completed in wood in December.

REFINEMENT IN WOOD
Oak barrels from Slavonia and small French oak barrels

CLARIFICATION
Egg white, gel bentonite

CHARACTERISTICS
This procedure is aimed towards producing a wine of particular smoothness and drinkability, characterized by a velvety tannin, never sharp. Garnet red in colour, the aroma is clean and clear with classic floral notes, of medium body.
